The security of visiting passengers and cruise ships is of paramount importance. Here at the Port of Halifax, we are prepared.
- Cruise Ship Facility Security Plan, developed following the Canadian Marine Transportation Security Regulations fully addresses the ISPS code
- Dedicated on-site Halifax Regional Police department detachment
- New Command and Control System providing 24-hour water and land area surveillance supported by mobile patrols of port facilities
- Only Canadian port with dedicated police services employed on-site
- Waterborne police patrols of the cruise vessel berthing areas
- Restricted access zones surrounding the ship's berth monitored via the Command and Control system
- A Cruise Ship Coordinator fully qualified as a Facility Security Officer in accordance with the ISPS Code and the Canadian Marine Transportation Security Regulations
