Karen Oldfield, President & CEO of the Halifax Port Authority, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Cormier to the executive team. Michael joined the Halifax Port Authority in January 2006 as Vice President, Marketing, assuming overall responsibility for Marketing and Business Development.
Prior to joining the Halifax Port Authority, Michael worked with the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority as the Chief Executive Officer. Previously, he held the position as Harbour Master and Senior Manager, Marine Operations at the Port of Vancouver. Michael has also worked with Terminal Systems Inc. in Vancouver and Cerescorp Company in Halifax. In addition to a Masters Degree in Business Administration, Michael holds a Certificate of Competency as a Master Mariner.
Actively involved in his community, Michael has sat on a variety of public, private and industry related boards and committees, including the Victoria Symphony, Victoria Tall Ships Society, the Association of Canadian Port Authorities ACPA and at the American Association of Port Authorities AAPA. Michael looks forward to being actively involved on committees and boards on the East Coast.
