January 9, 2004
Halifax, NS - The Halifax Port Authority's annual Port Days will arrive sooner than later this year and with a twist. The Port of Halifax's key industry event, Port Days, usually held in September, will be replaced by, Port Forum at Tall Ships 2004. The event will take place July 29th and 30th, 2004.
"Our annual Port Days event attracts hundreds of local and international industry guests and we expect that Tall Ships 2004 will be a major draw this year," says Patricia McDermott, Vice President Marketing, HPA. "A Port Days survey indicated overwhelming interest in coordinating the timing of our industry event with a marquee Port of Halifax event."
Tall Ships 2004 will arrive in Halifax Harbour on July 29th with the Parade of Sail scheduled for August 2nd. With up to 40 ships expected, Halifax is the only Canadian Port to host Tall Ships 2004.
