Smart Port

Recognizing the need for a formal mechanism for stakeholder cooperation and partnership, the Halifax Port Authority initiated Smart Port in the fall of 2002. The Smart Port initiative brings Port of Halifax stakeholders together to identify issues and focus on solutions that will increase growth and maintain the Port's competitive position in global markets.

Smart Port is comprised of a Leadership Council and three working groups: Marketing and Strategy, Competitiveness and Productivity, and Security and Technology. With over 75 participants from the transportation industry, Smart Port has been developed to help shape the future of port operations in Halifax.
